In The Lanes
Final Major Project
In The Lanes is a record label based in Brighton that targets up-coming artists of multi-genres, focussing on supporting musicians through the journey to find their sound. I have designed the brand to be vibrant and professional, in order to come across friendly to new artists that might have joined the music Industry. The logo was originally created on the letterpress to reiterate this idea of crafting music and Light leaks act as a visual style throughout to express the flare of music that is produced at the record label. I wanted to showcase how an artist would interact with In The Lanes, when they sign the record deal, involving signage for the studio, promotional posters, social media interaction, digital elements and a press kit.
Label recordio yn Brighton yw In The Lanes sy’n targedu artistiaid aml-genre sy’n dod i’r amlwg, gan ganolbwyntio ar gefnogi cerddorion drwy’r daith i ddod o hyd i’w sain. Rydw i wedi cynllunio’r brand i fod yn fywiog a phroffesiynol, er mwyn ymddangos yn gyfeillgar i artistiaid newydd a allai fod wedi ymuno â’r diwydiant cerddoriaeth. Crëwyd y logo ar y llythrenwasg yn wreiddiol i ailadrodd y syniad hwn o saernïo cerddoriaeth ac mae gollyngiadau golau’n gweithredu fel arddull weledol drwyddi draw i fynegi’r ddawn gerddorol a gynhyrchir ar y label recordio. Roeddwn eisiau dangos sut y byddai artist yn rhyngweithio ag In The Lanes, wrth arwyddo cytundeb recordio, yn cynnwys arwyddion ar gyfer y stiwdio, posteri hyrwyddo, rhyngweithio ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol, elfennau digidol a phecyn i’r wasg.

Scared of the Rain
D&AD Competition
Scared of the rain is typography-led campaign, aimed to target the Welsh Government, who are not doing enough to support the life-threatening annual floods that the Rhonnda Cynon Taf (RCT) community are living with. The content has been gathered first hand, from a direct victim of the RCT floods, and their words have been visualised to evoke emotion, in hope that others will understand their world and their struggles, creating conversation around this heart-breaking reality. The deliverables include a series of placards that could be used as protest, sandbags covered in words of the victims and social media posts. I have also showcased how Google could bombard the Government with notifications, every time it rains, notifying them with the issues.
Mae Scared of the Rain yn ymgyrch a arweinir gan deipograffeg, gyda’r nod o dargedu Llywodraeth Cymru, nad yw’n gwneud digon i gynorthwyo gyda’r llifogydd blynyddol sy’n bygwth bywyd y mae cymuned Rhondda Cynon Taf (RhCT) yn byw gydag ef. Mae’r cynnwys wedi’i gasglu’n uniongyrchol gan ddioddefwyr uniongyrchol llifogydd RhCT, ac mae eu geiriau wedi’u delweddu i ysgogi emosiwn, gan obeithio y bydd eraill yn deall eu byd a’u brwydrau, gan greu sgwrs am y realiti torcalonnus hwn. Mae’r cynnyrch yn cynnwys cyfres o gardiau y gellid eu defnyddio fel protest, bagiau tywod wedi’u gorchuddio â geiriau’r dioddefwyr a negeseuon cyfryngau cymdeithasol. Rydw i wedi dangos hefyd sut y gallai Google anfon hysbysiadau di-ri at y Llywodraeth, bob tro y mae’n bwrw glaw, gan roi gwybod iddynt am y problemau.
