Stupid Colour Prevention
Final Major Project
I based my final project on colour blindness as I wanted to look into how design is used which can cause colour blind people everyday issues. As the most common type of colour blindness is protanopia (red/green colour blindness) design that relies on red and green as indicators makes it hard for colour blind people to understand what something is saying. For the project I exaggerated the effects of designing without colour blind people in mind by implying that a colour blind person’s life can be ruined due to poor design. I created a campaign called Stupid Colour Prevention which helps to prevent designers using colours that colour blind people can’t see by showing the effects of poor colour decisions.
Seiliais fy mhrosiect terfynol ar ddallineb lliw gan fy mod am edrych ar sut y defnyddir dylunio mewn ffyrdd sy’n gallu achosi problemau bob dydd i bobl sy’n lliwddall. Gan mai’r math mwyaf cyffredin o ddallineb lliw yw protanopia (dallineb lliw coch/gwyrdd) mae dylunio sy’n dibynnu ar goch a gwyrdd fel dangosyddion yn ei gwneud hi’n anodd i bobl sy’n ddall i liwiau ddeall beth mae rhywbeth yn ei ddweud. Ar gyfer y prosiect, fe wnes i orbwysleisio effeithiau dylunio heb ystyried pobl sy’n lliwddall drwy awgrymu y gellir difetha bywyd person sy’n lliwddall yn sgil dylunio gwael. Fe wnes i greu ymgyrch o’r enw Stupid Colour Prevention sy’n helpu i atal dylunwyr rhag defnyddio lliwiau na all pobl sy’n lliwddall eu gweld drwy ddangos effeithiau penderfyniadau lliw gwael.




Google: Just A Call Away
D&AD Competition
For the competitions project I chose the Google brief which was about basing the project of the Declaration of Human Rights. I based my project on transgender sex workers as in some countries being transgender is illegal so many have to turn to sex work in order to make a living. For the project I made a campaign called Just a Call Away which is a free helpline for transgender sex workers who need someone to talk to. For the look of the campaign, I used inspiration from the look of call cards which are used to advertise sex workers. I used statistics to show what transgender sex workers really go through.
Ar gyfer y prosiect cystadlaethau, dewisais y briff Google a oedd yn ymwneud â seilio prosiect ar y Datganiad o Hawliau Dynol. Seiliais fy mhrosiect ar weithwyr rhyw trawsryweddol gan fod bod yn drawsryweddol yn anghyfreithlon mewn rhai gwledydd felly mae’n rhaid i lawer droi at waith rhyw er mwyn byw. Ar gyfer y prosiect, fe wnes i greu ymgyrch o’r enw Just a Call Away sy’n llinell gymorth am ddim i weithwyr rhyw trawsryweddol sydd angen rhywun i siarad â nhw. O ran diwyg yr ymgyrch, defnyddiais ysbrydoliaeth y cardiau bach a ddefnyddir i hysbysebu gweithwyr rhyw. Defnyddiais ystadegau i ddangos sut beth yw bywyd i weithwyr rhyw trawsryweddol mewn gwirionedd.
